Description
Short course racing is next to NASCAR racing in the U.S. as the most popular motorsport category. This so-called Pro-Trucks driving on an unpaved runway exciting race against each other. The trucks go directly against each other, the winners were each in the next round. The original cars have more than 800 hp and sit down with breathtaking V8 storm scene in audience appeal.
In the USA Short Course racing has quickly become the most popular racing series. The reasons are obvious: Short course racing is inexpensive, robust technology, manageable budget and direct the struggle of man against man
With the Ultima SC-R offers KYOSHO forged a particularly powerful weapon to conquer the short course tracks in the world. Based on the competition in the already highly successful Ultima series, Ultima SC-R is supplied as a kit and additional tuning parts. This kit contains no electronics and no body.
Ultima is the name for over two decades of sophisticated technology competition in the competitive class 1 / 10 electric 2WD off-road. Numerous covers drove the Ultima and substandard competition. That has not changed since then ...! With the production version of the Ultima SC-R Jared Tebo was confident the 2WD Short Course class at CRCRC win 2011!
The SC-R is based on the Ultima RT5, but he has a 40mm longer wheelbase, which gives the model a well-controlled drift properties in high speed corners.
Chassis
The SC-R is built on a tub chassis, which is made from a special plastic with carbon fibers. This material combines the advantages of carbon-based materials and plastics. The injected bars stiffen the chassis in addition to all axes. The battery compartment is designed for use with LiPo Car Battery or 6 - to 7-cell NiMH battery packs. The position of the battery can be varied to achieve an ideal chassis balance.
Transmission & Gear
The all-new gearbox unit is designed especially small and easily. This allows the engine and transmission are placed very low in the chassis, thereby keeping the overall focus of the model is positively influenced. The gearbox is a three-tier and directs the force of a ball differential to the rear wheels. About the slippers can be adapted to the respective maximum traction on the track.
Rear axle
The complete Hinterachseinheit is symmetrical, which provide for easy maintenance costs. Track and caster angle can be varied by varying the mounting arm shots. The upper arms are equipped with R / L-threaded rods and pivoted on ball heads.
Front
The front axle is symmetrical, it has a particularly long and narrow wings. Thus the entire Vorderachseinheit has a particularly compact and light. The suspension of the front wheels is done in special low-friction ball bearings that are sealed against dust. All parameters such as track, camber and caster can be adjusted with little effort.
Steering & Servo Saver
The fully ball bearing servo saver is arranged in the same angle as the front control arms, so that the Ackermann effect is achieved over the entire steering range. The steering board has two attachment points to adjust the Ackermann effect on the respective route.
Shock Towers
The shock towers are also made of a special plastic with fibers. This material has the required strength in racing, but also has the necessary flexibility in the event of a hard crash. Both shock towers have numerous mounting points to the model in every possible line vote.
Oil Shock
The coated, Velvet oil shocks are made from high quality aluminum and are characterized by their ease. The setting of the preload is particularly sensitive about a knurled nut with fine thread.
With the Ultima SC-R of the established competition grows in the short-course racing is a serious opponent who is clearly on a successful program.
