Welcome to the next evolution of Mini-z rims, the GL carbon rim. Mini-Z World Champion Menson has been riding Mini-Zs for years. He recently left Atomic RC and started his own product line GL-Racing. The best way to start with this is to reinvent the wheel!! We have had plastic rims and alloy rims for years. Light alloys look great, but they’re heavy and don’t offer enough flexibility to absorb vibration.

The result, like a stiff chassis, is that the car is heavy and less grippy. Not to mention that alloy wheels are very expensive and therefore not very practical for racing. On the other hand, plastic rims offer light weight, good grip, but not good looks, but for racers, performance is most important, so they were the first choice for most racers. Also, they are quite cheap, so racers can keep opening new ones to ensure consistent performance.

Then we have the machine cut derlin or plastic rims, these offer light weight, machine cut precision but are often too soft and also quite expensive. Now GL offer the carbon rims, they are made of carbon reinforced plastic, looks realistic, much harder than ordinary plastic, this results in consistent and smooth cornering, but offers good flexing unlike alloys.

These rims are also machine cut so when you open the box you get perfect roundness and symmetry. We believe these rims are the best money can buy and should set a new standard for Mini-Z racing. We have a RWD versions and an AWD version. Now you can upgrade your mini RC racer.
