Tamiya RC Mercedes-Benz CLK GT-R TC-01 Chassis Kit 58731

Including certificate for Tamiya NL Cup!

The Mercedes-Benz CLK-GTR R/C car kit first made its appearance in the Tamiya product catalog in 1998 on the popular TA-03R chassis platform then later the easy to assemble TT-01E platform. The CLK-GTR has made a return this time on our high-performance TC-01 chassis platform, which is destined to provide the most performance yet as it takes advantage of the Mercedes sleek body profile and the low center of gravity of the TC-01!

Tamiya is delighted to announce that the 1997 Mercedes-Benz CLK-GTR is now paired with the TC-01 chassis.
(Item 47437 uses the TT-01 Type-E chassis.) The Mercedes-Benz CLK-GTR car took six wins in dominating the 1997 FIA GT Championship. Although inheriting the 2-door coupe form and front section of its base road car, it was actually vastly different. It used a carbon composite monocoque frame with roll cage, a rear 6-liter V12 engine capable of over 600hp, and 6-speed sequential transmission. Its 4-wheel double wishbone suspension featured front and rear pull-rod setups.

Detailed information about the TC-01 chassis

In addition to the unique MB CLK-GT-R body, this chassis is compatible with standard touring car bodies. The wheelbase is 257 mm.
A hybrid combination of monocoque and upper frame reminds of the TA07 and other modern Tamiya chassis. It offers superior stiffness and the potential for a whole range of bodywork.
The completely new front and rear internal suspension uses identical long left and right wishbones and spars for optimum leverage and efficient maintenance.
Embedded centrally in the monocoque area is the drive engine with internal front and rear suspension.
The oil-pressure dampers are operated by push rods and rocker arms. The use of different spacers allows the camber, caster and toe angles to be changed for maximum adjustment freedom.
Change the bumper and body mounts to choose between formula and touring car layouts.
The shaft-driven 4WD layout uses oil-filled TB-05 design transmission differentials for smooth, efficient drive.
Compatible with IFMAR battery packs with standard dimensions.
Many hop-up parts are planned in the near future to spice up the chassis even more!
