The Team Associated RC28R.1 brings the uncompromising engineering expertise of the renowned AREA 51 design team to the 1:28 micro class. Despite its ultra-compact dimensions, this purebred on-road chassis delivers the driving feel and tuning precision of full-scale competition platforms. Featuring a redesigned steel chassis plate, carbon fiber upgrades, and innovative torsion side links, the RC28R.1 combines ultimate torsional stiffness with straightforward chassis tuning—perfect for thrilling, tight-quarters racing action.

Innovative Torsion Suspension and Modular Axle Geometry

In place of traditional side springs, the RC28R.1 utilizes torsion side links (included in Soft, Medium, and Hard rates). These simplify setup considerably while ensuring predictable, linear steering response under hard cornering loads. Paired with side damper tubes and a central aluminum threaded coil-over shock, pitch, roll, and droop can be dialed in with millimeter accuracy.

The updated front suspension features an FT carbon fiber arm brace, front bulkhead shims, and modular upper arms for 0.5° and 1.0° camber along with 2° and 4° caster. The two-piece rear motor pod incorporates Factory Team carbon fiber shims for rapid axle height and ground clearance adjustments across varying tire diameters. The chassis accommodates batteries up to 24 mm in width and provides ample room for standard Reedy 1:28-scale electronics. Completing the package is the aerodynamic Radbody Mako X2 competition body.
