Chassis.

The all-new chassis design features new flex characteristics and uses M4 screws throughout for easy & reliable assembly.

The milled-out sides of the chassis allow for a laydown servo mounting configuration for the lowest possible CG. Thanks to the significantly lowered overall CG of the electronics, the car is more dynamic with improved cornering speed.

Drive Train.

The front and rear aluminum CVD wheel axles are machined from 7075 T6 hard-coated aluminum to reduce rotating mass and improve drivetrain efficiency. The front one-way axle is designed for enhanced durability, and both the rear solid axle and front one-way axle outdrives are lightened for further weight reduction to improve acceleration.

Steering Blocks.

The steering block extensions are machined from super lightweight and strong carbon fiber to reduce unsprung weight and improve reliability.
The steering blocks are molded from a hard composite mixture to keep suspension geometry consistent and to provide stability and accuracy.
Thanks to perfect molding, bearings fit into the steering blocks without any extra play for maximum stability and steering.

Rear Shock Geometry.

The redesigned rear shock geometry features shorter shock absorbers mounted further outside the wheel for increased stability, with uprights machined to allow for new carbon shock mounting extensions that reduce unsprung weight.

Front Upper Arm Holders.

The redesigned lightweight front upper arm holder features an additional flex setting by connecting the holder to the front bulkhead from the side to reinforce the assembly. The upper arm holders use the smaller eccentric bushings and spacing shims from the NT1 for a more compact design to create the space to lower the radio tray height and reduce the overall CG.

Rear Upper Arm Holders.

Redesigned graphite rear upper arm holders provide more clearance above the rear belt. The rear upper arm holders are machined from strong 3.5mm graphite material for optimal flex of the rear suspension. Both front & rear plates are mounted on the rear upper clamps to capture the upper pivot pins.

Receiver Box.

The receiver box was completely redesigned. The new lightweight shape is ultra-compact and can be positioned as low as possible and closer to the chassis centerline for better weight distribution.

Servo Saver.

The redesigned servo saver has a shorter stand to match the lowered radio tray position and a key-lock system that ensures the servo saver will stay secured even during chassis flex in extreme conditions.

2-Speed Transmission.

The updated 2-speed transmission features simplified 2-speed aluminum holders that eliminate unnecessary braces to increase chassis flexibility in key areas while their wider positioning provides improved support for the 2-speed shaft. To increase transmission reliability, the 2-speed shaft adapter for the rear belt pulley now uses longer pins. The one-way carrier has a new lightweight design for reduced rotating mass.

Brakes.

New guide pins are used instead of screws for smoother operation of the brake pads. Brake system efficiency is improved using shims on the springs to prevent lock and keep the brake parts moving freely. Optional full ventilated brake disk included now in the kit.

Radio Tray.

Thanks to the new compact receiver box, the radio tray layout has space to move the throttle servo more rearward with the receiver box located in the middle. The steering servo holders are also redesigned

Suspension Arms.

RX8 now includes hard composite suspension arms, steering blocks and rear uprights to compliment the improved chassis flex and keep suspension geometry more consistent, providing more stability and accuracy compared to previous models.
