30g of total weight savings without compromising durability, especially beneficial in spec class racing when heavier battery packs are needed.
As a result of efficient weight savings in all bulkhead- and suspension components, the car is significantly lighter than the previous X4.
In additional to the reduced weight resulting in lowered CG, the new X4 offers more choices for balance weight placement making it possible to achieve perfect left- to right balance even when using heavier battery packs.
Suspension Arms.
All-new CFF2â„¢ carbon fiber lower arms with integrated composite detailing for maximum suspension rigidity and optimal suspension function. The arms are extremely light yet durable. The all-new improved suspension geometry with shocks more outboard improves traction and steering response in all conditions. A unique design solution is applied for easy pivot ball assembly while maintaining maximum reliability.
The arms feature a unique design to retain the pivot balls that allows them to be easily installed but resists separation in a hard crash using a directional shape to secure the pivot balls into the lower arm. For the same reason, the lower arms are individual between left and right corners of the car due to the directional shape of each pivot ball socket.
The high-grade carbon fiber material provides maximum rigidity. The integrated composite detailing uses minimal material to keep weight as low as possible. The combined result is very effective solution to increase rigidity while controlling weight for the most responsive suspension characteristics.
Shock Holders
Compatible with the included XLP2 shocks, new shock holders align with the updated suspension geometry and bulkhead shape. The new geometry improves cornering speed, mid-corner steering and stability.
The revised shock mounting locations move the shocks more outboard, improving cornering speed and stability, which improves the X4 handling in all conditions. Shocks are placed as close as possible to the driveshafts for the weight to be as centralized as possible.
Shocks are mounted at the front and back of the lower arms for ease of maintenance and better accessibility for quick set-up changes.
The versatile shock holders use shims for adjusting the shock position in precise shock angle increments.
Simplified shock mounting uses a captured mounting stud secured to the shock holder with a special setscrew. It is not necessary to use thread lock as the setscrew will keep the stud secure even during shock install/removal.
Anti-Roll Bars.
The ultra-low CG anti-roll bars are attached from above the suspension arms with minimal mounting hardware and materials. The wobble-free anti-roll bar height is easily adjusted via set screw from the top of the arm.
The new mounting geometry makes the anti-roll bars more efficient and achieves earlier pickup points from the suspension movement.
